Steven H. Heringa was born
in Abbotsford, B.C., in 1954. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in
1978 after obtaining his LL.B. from the University of British Columbia in
1977.
He has lectured at the Pacific Coast Brain Injury Conference and
for Continuing Legal Education. He is a member of the Fraser Valley Brain
Injury Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and is on the
Executive of the B.C. Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the
Civil Litigation and Insurance Law sub-sections of the Canadian Bar
Association.
Steven's practice consists largely of plaintiffs' personal
injury litigation, often performed on a contingency basis where fees are
calculated as a percentage of the amount of the award won in court or
settlement. He has extensive experience in civil litigation and mediation
including insurance subrogation and professional negligence
claims.
Steven has trial experience before the Supreme Court of BC, the
BC Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
