Born in Edmonton, Alberta,
Kirsten J. Madsen has been a member of the British Columbia Bar since 1991. She
obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta in 1987 and
her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1990. She has
been a partner at Paine Edmonds since 1999. Kirsten has been an active
executive member of the Insurance Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association
for many years, including being elected as the Section Chair for 2000-2001. She
is a contributing author to the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Claims Manual
and has been published in the Canadian Journal of Family Law. Kirsten's
practice is focused in the area of civil litigation. Her practice includes all
insurance related litigation as well as personal injury actions. She acts for a
number of insurance companies in defending actions and advising on policy
coverage issues. She has appeared as counsel at trial and at the appellate
level, as well as at mediations and arbitrations.
