John Bancroft-Jones received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Lancaster University in 1976. He graduated from the U.B.C. Law
School in 1981 and articled at the law firm of Lawson Lundell in Vancouver.
John was called to the B.C. bar in 1982 and in the same year joined the law
firm of Paine Edmonds. Johns law practice has focused primarily
on civil litigation, and he has experience in the following areas:

Construction - including deficiencies, leaky condo cases, and land
subsidence; |

including heavy equipment and other products; |

Omissions - cases involving engineers, architects, lawyers, real estate agents,

property damage, cause and origin issues, and business interruption

Personal Injury - claims
arising from motor vehicles, slip and falls and other causes, including brain
injury and other major loss claims; and |

John is an experienced and highly successful
mediator. He has mediated numerous cases, including multi-party mediations.
John completed the Continuing Legal Education Advanced Commercial Mediation
course in 1996. He is a member of the Commercial Mediation Association and the
Civil Roster of the British Columbia Mediator Roster Society. Mediations
currently account for approximately 75% of John's practice.
