Born in Chirk, Wales in
1954, John Bancroft-Jones has been a member of the British Columbia Bar since
1982. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Lancaster University, England in 1976 and his LL.B. from the University of
British Columbia in 1981. He received his Chartered Mediator (C. Med.)
designation in 2005. From 1982 until 2000, John's litigation practice
was devoted to insurance, personal injury, products liability, engineering
matters and professional negligence. Since 2000, he has concentrated on his
mediation practice. Mediations now account for approximately 90% of his
practice. However, he is actively involved in assisting and consulting within
the firm on selected litigation files. mediator John's hobbies
include golf, boating, restoration of older English sports cars, motorcycling
and rescuing older dogs.
