Jim is the managing partner of Paine Edmonds LLP. He is a senior member of the firm's Insurance Litigation Group. His practice has an emphasis on a wide variety of matters relating to insurance coverage, insurance defence, and subrogation. Jim has extensive experience as lead counsel in arbitrations and mediations as well as trial and appellate work in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal of British Columbia. He has also appeared in the Courts of the Northwest Territories, Yukon and Alberta. His considerable knowledge and experience in insurance litigation has made him one of the most well known and respected members of the insurance defence bar in British Columbia.

Jim was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He is married and has two daughters. He enjoys golf, biking, music and books.
