Kirsten has been a partner at Paine Edmonds LLP since 1999. In addition to being a senior member of the firm’s ICBC & Personal Injury Law and Insurance Litigation Groups, she also leads the firm’s Family Law Group. Her practice has an emphasis on representing people with personal injury claims (including claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall accidents, and products liability), and family law issues. She has extensive experience in insurance litigation concerning occupiers' liability, products liability, motor vehicle, commercial and social host liability, construction law, and errors and omissions.
Kirsten has appeared as lead counsel in many British Columbia Supreme Court trials, including jury trials, as well as in British Columbia Court of Appeal hearings. Kirsten has broad experience as counsel representing plaintiffs, defendants and third parties at mediations and arbitrations. She is also Chair of the firm’s Articling Student Selection Committee.
Kirsten has achieved the BV rating (Very High Legal Ability and Ethical Standards) in the
Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating system.

Kirsten was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She is married and has one son. She enjoys skiing and is an avid runner. She has been an active volunteer for the National Fragile X Research Foundation of Canada since 2004. She has also served as a Director for the Developmental Disabilities Foundation since 2006 and volunteer legal counsel for the Multiple Sclerosis Society since 2001. She also volunteers as a moot court judge for the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law as well as the Professional Legal Training Course.
