Jane has acted for many insurance companies on claims involving motor vehicle accidents, occupiers' liability, products liability, and commercial and social host liability. She has extensive trial experience (judge alone and jury) as lead counsel dealing with such matters at all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as alternative dispute resolution, such as mediations and arbitrations. She has also handled subrogated claims on behalf of the Workers Compensation Board (now called WorkSafe BC).

Jane is the mother of three and is actively involved as a school and preschool classroom volunteer. Her recreational time is spent with family and in activities such as running, tennis, boating, and skiing. She has completed the Vancouver Marathon and a number of half-marathons. Jane is also actively involved in volunteer work having volunteered for the Canucks for Kids Fund and Canadian Cancer Society, as well as for the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law as a moot court judge.
